The Lockheed Martin Space Communications team is seeking a strategic, hands-on thought leader to oversee the Brand Communications team. The successful candidate should be an energetic, creative, and project-oriented marketer, who has demonstrated leadership experience with planning, shaping, and executing brand, social, digital and advertising strategies, including overseeing trade show events. This role is accountable for developing stories that support business priorities and advance initiatives through strategic and bold campaigns.

Additionally, as a member of the Communications leadership team, the candidate must possess the ability to coach, mentor, and drive employee development.

In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of brand communications and trade show event experts.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to define and uphold brand voice, guidelines and standards across all marketing assets and platforms.
  • Advise senior leaders and executive leadership across the business on brand strategy and messaging.
  • Partner with other disciplines within Communications and across the business (i.e., business development, government affairs, etc.) to drive larger enterprise-wide stories.
  • Drive and develop integrated campaigns aligned to business and communications priorities; possess strong ability to reach government and business audiences with customized targeted messages.
  • Manage the digital and social media strategy for Lockheed Martin Space.
  • Lead the development of standard processes and marketing communications metrics; apply data-driven guidelines to improve content readership and target audience reach.
  • Ensure exhibit booth design and overall presence at trade shows and events position the company as the industry authority and creates a welcoming environment for customers and partners.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work:
Denver, Colorado, and be expected to work in the office.

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

  • Masters degree in communication or marketing.
  • Ability to deliver results, shape the future, build effective relationships, energize the team, and model personal excellence, integrity, and accountability.
  • Proven exceptional and high quality strategic communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels including executive leadership.
  • Experience as 'leader of leaders; ' leading and developing other leaders.
  • Proven success in leading teams and large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated experience producing effective marketing campaigns and a strategic mindset to connect multiple stories into a single narrative.
  • Ability to use digital tools to ensure precision targeting of audiences and analyzes results to fine-tune campaign and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Good judgment and discretion along with a professional demeanor and interpersonal style that elicits trust from leadership, staff, and partners.
  • Comfortable interfacing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time, effectively managing a heavy workload independently and without close supervision.
