Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Branch Supervisor to lead daily operations at Davies Library, support and develop staff, and create positive experiences for our community. You'll help foster a welcoming, community-centered library where employees are supported, and patrons feel connected.
About the RoleLocated in Deer Trail, Davies Library serves a small, rural community. The library shares space with the local school, creating a unique environment that requires thoughtful leadership, strong relationship-building, and an understanding of multiple service needs.
The Branch Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the library while supporting employees, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring excellent service for the community. This role balances operational oversight, staff development, community engagement, and customer relations while helping advance district priorities and library goals.
Key Responsibilities Operations- Oversee daily library operations by allocating resources, prioritizing work, sharing information, and making decisions that support efficient branch operations.
- Troubleshoot facility and equipment concerns and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Create staff schedules that ensure appropriate coverage and excellent service.
- Provide direct patron assistance and support collection maintenance and materials handling as needed.
- Maintains a relationship with the Deer Trail School to support building and school community needs.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
- Monitor performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional growth.
- Manage scheduling, timekeeping, assignments, priorities, and department operations.
- Foster collaboration, communication, team building, and adaptability.
- Support organizational initiatives and contribute to branch-level planning.
- Lead by example and work alongside staff to support excellent service.
- Build positive relationships with staff, patrons, and community members.
- Resolve concerns by researching issues, evaluating options, and identifying solutions.
- Support outreach and relationship-building efforts that strengthen community connections.
- Participate in project teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Contribute to district work as a team member or project manager.
- May lead district trainings and support broader organizational priorities.

- Two years of similar or related experience, such as library service or customer service.
- 0-2 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills, including practical thinking, problem solving, adaptability, coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to keep confidential information.
- Ability to travel between facilities.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.

- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
- Intermediate technology skills for Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Teams, with the ability to learn and apply new technologies.
