Assistant Center Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family, group conference and retreat center serving more than 50,000 guests annually. Under the direction of the Center Services Manager, the Assistant Center Services Manager is responsible for managing staff through the execution of all event set-up logistics including meeting room set-up, break-down, audio/visual (AV) set-up and implementing solutions for all AV challenges throughout a group’s event.

The Assistant Center Services Manager provides managerial support and supervision for the Center Services seasonal staff under the direction of the Center Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrates strong leadership skills to effectively train, manage, motivate and mentor a diverse team of seasonal staff, fellows, and team leads.

Assist with hiring and onboarding Center Services staff, with an emphasis on AV operations training and evening-shift responsibilities.

Assist the Center Services Manager with the departmental operations, workflow coordination and administrative responsibilities.

Executes event orders accurately, including room setups, audio/visual configurations, and refreshment deliveries.

Develop and maintain the AV expertise necessary to support conferences, family programs, staff events, and other group  partnership with the Center Services Manager, oversee audio/visual systems and equipment, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, testing, inventory management, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment procurement.

Work with the Center Services Manager and Director of Operations to evaluate, recommend and purchase equipment within budgetary guidelines.

Maintain equipment inventory records and ensure all equipment checkouts and returns are properly documented.

Review daily event reports to verify all setups & deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule; help ensure staffing levels adequately support daily operational demands.

Safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools and power tools to install, repair, and maintain AV equipment.

Coordinate and assist with the cleaning of Snow Mountain Ranch meeting spaces, associated restrooms, and common areas; maintenance includes operation of carpet-cleaning equipment.

Provide support to Housekeeping or Laundry Departments during periods of operational need.

Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.

Possess stamina to work in the work environment described.

REQUIREMENTS/

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of one year of hospitality experience required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred; equivalent AV experience may be substituted.

Hands-on experience with AV equipment, including microphones, digital mixers (e.g., X Air), projectors, sound systems, and video matrices is highly preferred.
