Overview
A machinist 1 at MKS Instruments collaborates with the machine shop team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and the technical operations teams. You will be responsible for productivity, quality, and meeting daily efficacies. You will report to the Machine shop supervisor.
You Will Make an Impact By- Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
- Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
- Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances
- May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions
- Setting up and running the Omax water jet
- Inventory and cycle counting raw materials
- Unloading Semi Trucks
- Burning used coolant
- Issuing raw materials
- Calling for pickup of recycled metals
- 1+ year of related experience
- Requires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
- Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the time
- Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
- Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- Operates in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
- Noise level in the work environment is usually average
Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.50 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected range for this position, based on qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
