This entry‑level role works under our feed mill manager, tackling responsibilities to improve daily efficiency, meet our goals, optimize market share, and provide outstanding customer service. You will manage feed product inventory, accurately prepare ingredients for the next mix, and ensure compliance with animal health and food safety preventative controls. Each day you will attend production meetings and coordinate schedules and activities with management.
Other tasks include cleaning and organizing the feed mill, toting out finished feed bags, loading delivery trucks and customer vehicles with ordered products, and more. You will promptly notify your manager about equipment maintenance and inventory needs, check forklift oil levels, record findings, and ensure all equipment is properly serviced and maintained. If you work on equipment or enter restricted areas such as grain bins and confined spaces, you will fill out the proper permits.
You will wear PPE, follow all health and safety regulations, and maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor. Performing additional duties as assigned, you will help drive continual improvements and support the growth of the company.
- Willingness to work half‑days on every other Saturday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm
- Math skills for measuring weight, counting money, calculating distance/volume, and performing other calculations
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and work through interruptions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to use computers and differentiate between color‑coded products
- Ability to work in an environment where you may be exposed to wetness/humidity, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noisy equipment
