Position Summary:
The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of structural components, pressure vessels, process piping, and other custom fabrication projects. This position works from drawings, specifications, and work instructions to produce quality welds and fabricated components while maintaining compliance with company quality and safety standards. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and workmanship.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform structural and code welding in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements
- Fabricate skids, supports, framework, process piping, pressure vessels, and custom fabrication projects
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment safely & effectively
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
- Maintain proper use, care and storage of tools and equipment
- Follow company quality procedures, safety, policies, and fabrication standards
- Assist with material handling, fit-up, assembly and shop activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1-year previous welding/fabrication experience or verifiable related education
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to pass applicable welding tests based on assignment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with regularity; frequent bending, stooping and standing
- May be required to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion
- Work in a variety of shop environments including cold or heat
- Must be able to stand on concrete floor for extended periods
- May be exposed to galvanized welding, stainless steel & aluminum fumes
- Must be able to wear and perform work in personal protective equipment (e.g. welding hood) for extended periods.
Salary:
Structural Welder - $25-29$/Hour
Code Welder - $30-$38/Hour
Overtime: Eligible after 40 hours of work in one week
