The Raw & Finished Goods Operator - Entry will be responsible for operating machinery, performing autonomous maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring sanitation. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) will be followed in all aspects of this position in addition to adhering to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality.
Responsibilities- Safely operate plant equipment.
- Set up, monitor, and make operational adjustments to production equipment to meet quality and production targets.
- Act as a fully participating team member to support continuous improvement and operating results.
- Follow, maintain, and improve standard work practices across all equipment.
- Operate a forklift and/or transporter, and be BD Certified and Licensed to operate either equipment.
- Understand Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP process and auditing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and Safety Practices.
- Perform general housekeeping and various sanitation functions.
- Participate in committees, teams, and meetings to improve overall operational effectiveness.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of machine operations and mechanical aptitude to keep machinery and equipment operating optimally.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work schedules, and performance graphs.
- Basic math skills.
- Previous experience operating machines is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
