JOB SUMMARYBlackeagle is seeking a skilled Structural Welder – 2nd Shift to join our Fabrication team. In this role, you will perform a variety of structural welds, working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys, while adhering to strict safety standards and quality requirements. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, you will be responsible for laying out, positioning, aligning, and securing parts and assemblies, as well as ensuring all work meets blueprint and specification standards.
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES
- Weld structural steel in all positions.
- Weld stainless steel and carbon steel and possibly other alloys.
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, flange line up pins, wrap around, center finders and rulers.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
- Clamp, hold, tack‑weld, heat‑bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Maintain exceptional attendance.
- Promote and adhere to company safety protocols and regulations
- Support and exemplify the company’s mission and values in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred. Welding certification is strongly preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of welding experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to pass welding tests as specified by company.
- Ability to read blueprint drawings is required.
- Strong math skills are required.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills are required.
- Possess a high level of energy and motivation.
- Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Capability to push, pull, grasp, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. - Must be able to wear and operate the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
