Position: CNC Machinist 2 - 2nd shift
Location: Broomfield

Day in Your Life at MKS

As a CNC Machinist at MKS, you will partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. You will report to the Senior Supervisor of Manufacturing Operations. This posting is for a conversion opportunity for a pre-identified temporary employee currently working at MKS.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines to manufacture precision parts per technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Set up machines, load raw materials, and monitor operations for abnormalities.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection results, part records, and production logs.
  • Identify and report defective materials, process issues, or equipment concerns.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including replenishing lubricants and coolants.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and resolve technical challenges.
Skills
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience working with conversational CNC machines.
  • Background in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • In depth knowledge of G Code programming.
  • Able to train and/or mentor others.
Preferred Skills
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Machine shop experience, ability to utilize complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, a variety of precision measuring instruments and trade knowledge equivalent to training in a formal apprenticeship program.
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines and interpreting blueprints/technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and feed/speed parameters.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the time.
  • Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.
Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $18.89 - 31.49 USD.

This range is an estimate based on qualifications, experience and training. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.

Bonus

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
