Essential Job FunctionsThe primary responsibility of the PCBA/SMT Assembly Technician is to test, rework and assemble circuit boards with an emphasis on high quality & efficiency.
1. Assemble & rework circuit boards
- Receive daily batches from Lead Final Assembly Technician or Board Assembly Manager
- Handle all assembly & rework stages of the build process, including:
- Ability to use board assembly equipment, like, soldering iron, reflow oven, board washer, hot air station, depanelizer, & Hakko FM206-DSS Rework Station
- Hand solder, both PTH(plated through hole) and SMD(surface mount device), components efficiently
- Read and understand a BOM(bill of materials) for initial assessment of the build & trouble-shooting
- Inspect & identify errors on all components used in our board population
2. Test circuit boards:
- Utilizing the internal ERP system, follow written test procedures to test full functionality of most assemblies
- When applicable, utilize a general understanding of electronics to perform "visual inspection" of boards to identify errors
3. Quality control inspection of all completed batches:
- Follow established procedures to ensure functional circuit boards are being completed in the build process, including 25% and 100% inspection of completed circuit boards
- Document and deliver erroneous boards, and communicate potential course of action
4. Maintain an organized & clean work space:
- Keep workstation, inventory, & all other Board Assembly areas clean & organized
- Participate in monthly warehouse cleaning
- Check emails multiple times throughout the day
