We are looking for a Power Plant Operations Engineer (PPOE) to join our Network Operations team that operates, maintains, and optimizes performance of Stem’s full portfolio of C&I‑sited behind‑the‑meter (BTM) and front‑of‑the‑meter (FTM) energy storage systems (ESS). You will have the opportunity to work with a stellar team building bleeding edge technologies in Artificial Intelligence, IOT Networking, Energy Storage use‑cases and advanced hardware/controls integration to revolutionize the grid.

An ideal candidate has a solid Power Electronics background and loves being the subject matter expert (SME) on deployed systems, developing and owning technical relationships with equipment OEMs, identifying and resolving equipment and operational issues, and representing Stem in mission‑critical operational improvement relationships with partners and asset owners to achieve real business outcomes.

• Identify, prioritize, and troubleshoot ESS equipment and operational incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies, and operational impact.
• Collaborate with Product Development Team to ensure operational sustainability point of view is considered during NPI.
• Create KPIs to analyze and discover possible growing issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop tools and processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create new rules for our data engine, to support strategic root cause corrections.
• Provide timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams.
• Document all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with field technicians during installation and operational issue resolution.
• Work with internal and external technical and service teams to support both temporary and permanent solutions to system issues, and to create and/or update knowledge base articles.
