Welder / MIG/MAG/TIG, Fabrication, Fitter
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter-Fabricator to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for laying out, fitting, fabricating, and assembling piping systems and related components used in the energy industry.
The ideal candidate will have strong industrial pipe fitting and fabrication experience, be comfortable reading isometric and fabrication drawings, and have welding experience. Candidates must also be able to successfully pass a company-administered 6G weld qualification test
.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Layout, fit, align, and assemble piping systems and fabricated components.
- Prepare pipe, fittings, flanges, and structural components for welding.
- Perform advanced pipe fitting, layout, and fabrication work.
- Perform tack welding in accordance with approved company procedures.
- Assist with welding operations as needed.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication accuracy. - Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures, levels, squares, and other layout tools.
- Safely operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Work closely with welders, quality personnel, and production staff to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable regulations.
- 3+ years of industrial pipe fitting and fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pipe fitting, layout, fit-up, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
- Welding experience using GMAW and FCAW processes.
- Ability to pass a company-administered 6G weld qualification test.
- Experience with tack welding and an understanding of weld shrinkage, fit-up tolerances, and fabrication sequencing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- ASME pressure piping experience.
- Energy industry fabrication experience.
- Experience with pipe supports and structural fabrication.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging experience.
- Previous welding experience.
- Leadership or mentoring experience.
This position requires the ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to safely operate hand and power tools and wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
