Work Schedule:
Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary
Develops, implements, and manages communications plans and projects, with primary responsibility for Estes Valley Medical Center with additional duties serving other UCHealth facilities.
Responsibilities
- Plans, manages, and coordinates communications initiatives, including publications and multimedia projects, that target specific messages and/or audiences.
- Serves as public information officer for UCHealth Estes Valley Medical Center, responding quickly and accurately to requests from news outlets and the public. Develops and executes media relations strategies.
- Develops and updates internal, external and corporate communication materials, fact sheets, newsletters, internal electronic and printed media, and crisis communications.
- Collaborates with a variety of teams to write and develop relevant, engaging, and effective strategies and content for internal and external communications projects.
- Develops and maintains network of community and media contacts. Responds to media inquiries, identifies storytelling opportunities and develops pitches to journalists. Regularly is on call during nights and weekends for UCHealth media relations and communications needs.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Minimum Required
Education:
Bachelor s degree in related field. - Required Licensure/Certification:
None Required. - Minimum Experience:
None Required.
- Editorial instinct and writing:
Ability to identify a potential story and evaluate what makes it newsworthy, relevant, and engaging to target audiences. Ability to source contacts, gather information, and to write concise, compelling and accurate copy - from features to news writing in a timely matter. Journalism experiences preferred. - Crisis Communication:
Experience in managing communication during crises, emergencies or sensitive situations. - Executive Communication:
Ability to build rapport with executives and provide strategic communication advice. Must be able to write letters, newsletters and other long-form copy in the voice of various senior leaders. Public relations experience is beneficial. - Internal Communication:
Ability to devise strategies and manage communications across a large internal staff. - Interpersonal
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse groups and individuals and to develop and maintain a network of relationships across various health care disciplines. - Teamwork:
Ability to collaborate with team members on projects and support group goals. - Project Management:
Strong personal project management skills to independently handle multiple communication projects simultaneously. - Digital tools:
Familiarity with or ability to learn evolving digital communication tools and platforms to reach target audiences.
