Regional Community Organizer

The Regional Community Organizer is an entry-level, full-time position focused on year-round outreach in Latino communities. Most of the work happens in the field — knocking on doors, making phone calls, attending community events, and talking directly with Latino voters and community members. This position is for someone who enjoys meeting people, can start conversations with strangers, and wants to help build Latino civic participation and community power.

Part-time positions are also available.

Voces Unidas' mission is to create a more equitable Western Colorado and central-mountain region where Latinas and Latinos are thriving, engaged and leading in our communities. We create opportunities where Latinas and Latinos advocate for themselves, actively participate in all civic institutions and take leadership roles in all decision-making tables. We are also building and growing our community's power and influence in the region.

Based in Glenwood Springs, Voces Unidas has offices in Frisco and Denver. Voces Unidas includes four separate organizations, all working independently to accomplish the larger mission.

• Knock on doors and make phone calls year-round to engage Latino voters and community members.
• Talk with community members about local issues, elections, civic participation, and opportunities to get involved.
• Identify and engage Latino community members at local events, businesses, churches, and other gathering places.
• Build relationships with Latino residents and community leaders.
• Recruit, coach, and support volunteers to participate in organizing and outreach activities.
• Help organize community meetings, events, canvasses, and other local activities.
• Accurately track conversations, contacts, and outreach results in our database.
• Meet weekly outreach and organizing goals.
• Participate in regular team meetings and trainings.
• Support other organizing activities and duties as needed.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Reliable transportation and regular access to a vehicle.
• Comfortable knocking on doors, making phone calls, and talking with people you do not know.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Organized and able to enter and track outreach data accurately.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate others.
• Interest in community organizing, civic engagement, and building Latino community power.
• Willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
• This is an in-person position and is not remote.

• Community organizing happens when people are available, so this is not a traditional 9-to-5 position.
• Evening and weekend work is a regular part of the position, not an occasional requirement.
• Typical shifts will look like 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends.
• For full-time, days off would be during week instead of the weekends.
