Requirements

To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years in a PACU or other critical care nursing preferred; new grads will be considered
  • Licenses/Certification: RN License current in Colorado; current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS (or ENPC) within the first year and maintenance thereafter; CAPA is preferred
  • Skills:
    • Ability to communicate, consult, and interact with team members to share pertinent information clearly and tactfully
    • Ability to report deviations in diagnostic studies (laboratory values, radiology, and EKG reports)
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment, determine priorities, and manage time
Responsibilities

As the PACU Nurse at Gunnison Valley Health, you will plan, organize, direct, execute, and evaluate all aspects of patient care during the pre-operative and post-operative phases of the surgical experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in process improvement and offering solution-based input to improve nursing practice
  • Seeking information, pursuing continuing education, and strengthening circulating skills
  • Collaborating with all members of the health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate the patient’s status and treatment plan
  • Completing the initial interview, medication reconciliation, anesthesia protocols, and patient education as required by policy

Compensation: $33.00 - $45.04/hour DOE (evening, night, and weekend shift differential pay). In addition to base salary, nurses have the opportunity to increase compensation through participation in the Clinical Ladder Program, which recognizes engagement in initiatives, professional development, leadership activities, and contributions to quality and patient safety. Advancement on the Clinical Ladder provides opportunities for growth.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally:
Walking, sitting, bending, crouching/squatting, stooping, kneeling, stairs, lifting/lowering (0-50 lbs), carrying (0-50 lbs), pushing/pulling (0-50 lbs)

Frequently:
Standing, changing position, reaching, reaching across midline, handling, pinching

Continuously:
See with corrective eyewear; hear clearly with assistance

Shift: 10- or 12-hour shifts with call

Schedule:

Day shifts (3–4 ten-hour shifts per week); rotating call

Status:
Full-time
