The ECU Nurse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational oversight of the Extended Care Unit (ECU). This position supports the delivery of safe, compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, staff development, and efficient department operations.
The ECU Nurse Manager provides leadership and support to ECU nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), develops and maintains staffing schedules, supports patient care coordination, and may provide direct patient care as needed.
The ECU Nurse Manager participates in the nursing administration on-call rotation and may provide leadership support, clinical consultation, and direct patient care within the Extended Care Unit (ECU), Acute Care Unit (ACU), Emergency Department (ED), or other patient care areas as needed.
Qualifications- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership, charge nurse, supervisory, or staff coordination experience.
- Current or ability to obtain within established time frames:
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). - Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). - Preferred:
Experience in extended care, acute care, emergency nursing, or nursing leadership.

- Paid Time Off (PTO):
Accrued at approximately 17 days for the first year of employment for hourly employees and 22 days for the first year of employment for salaried employees. PTO accrual increases as length of service increases. This includes holidays. - Sick Leave:
Up to 48 hours per year. - Retirement Plan:
Up to a 3% employer match, which increases with length of service. New employees automatically enrolled at a 1% contribution rate (can be opted out). Employees must complete 5 years of employment to be 100% vested. - Employee Health Payment Match:
Haxtun Health matches employee payments up to $1,000 per year per family for services received at Haxtun Health’s hospital or clinics. - Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI):
Haxtun Health participates in the CO FAMLI program, a social insurance program that provides up to 12 weeks of paid leave for qualifying life events. - Term Life Insurance: 1 x annual salary term life provided by HHD, no employee premium ($200,000 max).
