Registered Nurse (RN) – Valley Manor Care Center
Valley Manor Care Center, part of Volunteers of America National Services, invites a dedicated RN to provide direct care and manage nursing duties on our night shift units.
Compensation & ScheduleHourly Pay: $37.45–$44.95 per hour, plus $2.25 per hour night shift differential.
Schedule:
Full‑time night shift 6 pm‑6 am on Thursday, Friday & Saturday; every other Sunday 10 pm‑6 am.

The RN will utilize the nursing process to plan and provide direct care to residents, oversee shift routines, and act as the “in charge” according to the Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include building‑charge duties and leadership of unit personnel.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction on Assigned Unit – role model communication, coordinate shift reports, perform rounds, assign personnel, monitor performance, attend meetings, enforce disciplinary actions, report occupational exposures, present improvement suggestions to leadership.
Resident Care Functions – maintain competencies, treat residents with dignity, report abuse/neglect, administer meds per MD orders, monitor vitals, document, call upon provider for changes, communicate with family, comply with emergency protocols and advance directives.
Charting, Documentation and Assessment Functions – update care plans, chart routinely, transcribe orders, document incidents, chart nurses’ notes, maintain resident assessments, utilize E‑Interact tools.
Personnel Functions – attend meetings, keep environment safe, pursue continuing education, conduct disciplinary actions, evaluate employees, recommend staffing, collaborate inter‑departmentally, complete in‑services and modules.
Committee Functions – serve on and attend facility committees to enhance interdisciplinary processes.
Other duties as assigned.
- Current licensure as Registered Nurse in Colorado.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Maintenance of required CEUs.
- Experience in long‑term care preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving and independent judgment skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Effective communicator with staff, families, and outside agencies.
- Ability to prioritize duties.
- Customer‑service orientation and knowledge of successful techniques.
- Clinical competence in nursing assessments.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation.
- Team player.
- Knowledge of Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention/Control, and OSHA guidelines.
- Education:
Technical or other training in Nursing (or better). - Licenses &
Certifications:
Registered Nurse (required); CPR/First Aid (preferred).
Long‑term Care Preferred.
