Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The Cardiovascular Operating Room RN will provide high‑quality care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless operations.
Shift & Schedule10 hours per day, Monday–Friday. Variable days with call; some nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities- Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well‑being of patients and families in mind.
- Assess patients’ medical status upon admission and throughout the surgical course.
- Operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and manage all necessary instruments during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patient‑care providers, patients, and visitors, especially during emergency situations.
- Perform manual tasks, including bending, lifting, carrying supplies and equipment, and assisting with patient transport.
- Maintain proficient computer use, including documentation and medication preparation.
- Navigate crowded and busy operating‑room environments safely.
- Current Colorado RN license or a compact license with ability to obtain a Colorado RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS/NRP/PALS) certifications appropriate for the unit or service.
- At least one year of Cardiothoracic nursing experience in a comparable acute‑care/surgical setting, highly preferred.
