Position Summary

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking an experienced Oncology / Infusion Registered Nurse to join our oncology care team.

The Oncology RN provides specialized nursing care for patients receiving oncology and infusion therapies, including chemotherapy and biotherapy. This role involves administering complex IV medications, monitoring patient response to treatment, educating patients and families, and collaborating with oncology providers to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other infusion therapies safely and accurately
  • Perform IV therapy, port access, therapeutic phlebotomy, and other infusion-related procedures
  • Monitor patients during treatments and respond to adverse reactions or complications
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
  • Collaborate with oncology providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with chemotherapy safety standards and infusion protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
  • BSN preferred
Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of hospital or acute care nursing experience required
  • Oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Colorado RN license in good standing
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • OCN – Oncology Certified Nurse certification required
