American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a CO or compact license for a critical access hospital emergency department, requiring on-call availability and multiple specialty certifications.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a critical access hospital
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Average daily census of 17-18 patients
- 13-week assignment with Day shift schedule (3x12 Hours), either 6:00-18:00 or 11:00-23:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No floating required
- On-call requirement of 2 shifts per month, available for call-ins to ED or Acute Care for either day or night shifts
- Uses Pyxis medication system
- Uses T-system for documentation
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Charting system experience required (any system)
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
- Experience with pediatric emergency conditions and neurological emergencies (CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury)
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring and IV vasopressors
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Provide emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population presenting with a wide range of acute conditions
- Must reside within 1 hour distance of the facility to fulfill on-call requirements
- RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
- Scrub color is not restricted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Skilled in identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
