This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule:
Shift: 6 pm to 6 am, requiring weekends and holidays potentially.
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Family Birthing Center is responsible for independently assessing and evaluating the health status of both labor and neonate patients. The RN collaborates with patients, families, providers, and other healthcare team members to establish realistic and measurable goals, implement care plans, and provide patient education and counseling to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and monitor patient's response during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
- Educate mothers on wellness during pregnancy and postpartum.
- Instruct mothers on infant care and breastfeeding.
- Document all care and educational events in the patient medical record.
- Communicate patient conditions with physicians and nursing supervisors.
- Assist in maintaining skills and training of other FBC staff.
- Collaborate with nursery nurses in the care of mother/baby couplets.
- Assist physicians with procedures as needed.
- Support nurse manager and staff during emergencies in other nursing units.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all patients in the FBC unit.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Two years of nursing experience required.
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
- BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
