Aquatic Wildlife Technician
This position exists to perform various functions related to sustaining a proper biological environment to produce and distribute aquatic wildlife. The position makes precise biological and environmental assessments, and ascertains and sustains proper water quality.

Three years of work experience in aquaculture, propagating and/or rearing fish, fish culture, collecting and recording of aquatic wildlife data, and/or professional aquatic research or an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Substitutions:
Appropriate education in Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Biology, Aquatic Biology/Fishery Science/Aquaculture/Fishery Management, Ecology, Zoology/Animal Sciences, Water resources planning or management may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for the experience requirement.

Current or former State experience relevant to this position, Current or former Colorado Parks & Wildlife work or volunteer experience
Conditions of Employment:
State of Colorado residency is required at the time of application. Must possess and maintain a valid state of Colorado Driver's License. May be subject to background check. Pre-employment Physical:
Fish Culturist Functional Capacities Test. Will be required to work with oils, solvents, fuels, other chemicals, herbicides, and chemicals used to treat fish diseases. Will regularly drive fish trucks to various locations around the state in all types of weather for fish stocking. Will occasionally be required to travel overnight to varied locations around the state for training or work assignments.
Exempt from overtime; on-call status may be required. Required to work holidays and weekends as part of a rotating work schedule. CDL Class B, tanker and air brake endorsements. Hazing of predatory birds/animals will require the use of discharging cracker/pyrotechnics as a deterrent. Must pass required pre-employment physical, pre-employment drug testing and background check. Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify their application from the current position.

Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:
Have an assigned State fleet vehicle, Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position, Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle.
