Full season dates:
Dec 15-Mar 15.

Staff member benefits include free community-style housing, an hourly wage paid out bi-weekly, possession of individual tips received, paid sick leave (accrued each pay period), one free meal daily when the restaurant is open, and free and discounted activities.

General Duties:
  • Be a responsible team player, exhibit a warm and friendly demeanor, and possess the ability to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a safety-first mindset.

  • Prepare for all guided trips and rentals, preparing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are packed for each trip.

  • Clean and ensure guide room is prepared for guests.

  • Greet guests, assist with guest check-ins, and ensure guests are prepared for each trip with appropriate gear and attire. Engage with guests and get to know them, seeking to build authentic connections.

  • Lead guided trips and teach guests appropriate techniques and snowmobile safety. Provide encouragement, persuasion, patience and correction as needed.

  • Assist with snowmobile rentals

  • Be knowledgeable about and provide information on things such as the local history, flora, fauna, etc...

  • Carry out the program with attention to the limitations of time, altitude, and weather, keeping in mind the guest's individuality, personality and expectations.

  • Learn local snowmobile trails and alternate routes to be able to adjust course as needed and ensure accurate timing with trips.

  • Ensure guest safety in all areas and report safety hazards to the department manager. Report all accidents on an incident report. Be knowledgeable about safety in relation to the guests, equipment, and yourself (this includes temperature, weather, clothing, equipment, first-aid kit, etc.).

  • Clean and maintain all equipment daily. Report any issues directly to the department manager.

  • Wear appropriate guide apparel, based on industry standards and the specific activity.

  • Assist with pre/post season preparations, turnover and deep cleaning.

  • Safely handle a chainsaw (primarily to clear fallen trees from the trails).

Job requirements:
  • Be able to safely lift 60lbs.

  • Must have a valid CPR/First Aid certification. Wilderness medical certifications are a bonus, but are not required.

  • Must be 21 years or older and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred skills:
  • Have a basic understanding of snowmobile maintenance to be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues while in the backcountry.

  • Possess wilderness medical certifications (such as WFA, WAFA, WFR, WEMT)

  • Be proficient in on and off-trail snowmobile riding

  • Experience using a chainsaw
