This is a busy, established mixed animal veterinary practice providing comprehensive care to the Pagosa Springs community.
The hospital operates from a 3,700+ square-foot facility with three examination rooms and sees approximately 12 patients per day

Clinical capabilities include digital radiography, advanced diagnostics, dentistry, orthopaedic surgery, cold laser therapy and a comprehensive in-house pharmacy

Located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, the position offers access to the San Juan Mountains and extensive year-round recreation, including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, camping and water sports.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive veterinary care across a mixed animal caseload, with the majority of cases involving companion animals.
- Perform wellness examinations, diagnostic investigations and preventive healthcare.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries and develop appropriate individual treatment plans.
- Perform general surgical and dental procedures based on experience and clinical interests.
- Provide appropriate medical and emergency care for large animal patients, including mobile services where required.
- Utilise diagnostic imaging, laboratory resources and other available clinical technology to manage cases effectively.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, preventive medicine and ongoing care.
- Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians, client service professionals and fellow veterinarians.
- Maintain accurate patient records and uphold appropriate veterinary ethical and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuing education, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Candidates should hold, or be eligible to obtain, the appropriate Colorado veterinary licence.
- The ideal veterinarian will have an interest in mixed animal medicine and be comfortable managing a predominantly small animal caseload alongside large animal cases.
- Strong communication and client education skills are important, together with a compassionate and client-focused approach.
