This position is located in Midway Atoll, Hawaii.
Job Overview
The QC/Safety/Environmental Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Control, Safety, and Environmental programs to ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position promotes a safe work environment, monitors quality standards, conducts inspections, and supports continuous improvement throughout all project operations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Control, Safety, and Environmental programs.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain required documentation, reports, and records.
- Conduct employee safety training and orientations.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with project management to resolve quality and safety issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Control, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports.
- Support management during inspections and regulatory audits
Mandatory:
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control, safety, environmental compliance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable environmental requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain access to the work site.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification.
- Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
- Experience conducting safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Work is performed in both office and outdoor environments.
- Requires exposure to varying weather conditions, construction areas, and industrial work sites.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to perform work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
