Salary Range: $28.25 - $33.00 Hourly

This is an hourly, 12-hour shift position. The QC Chemist I schedule is a day shift with a start time of 6:00am to 6:30pm. This position has the potential to transition into a night shift, from 6:00pm to 6:30am after a sufficient training period. All night shift hours pay a shift differential. The weekly rotation is:

• Week 1: 36 hours worked on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thu
• Week 2: 48 hours (includes 8 hours of overtime pay) worked on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday

• Performs analytical tests with the guidance of an experienced or Lead Chemist
• Focuses on final testing, but also performs in-process testing with guidance within 3 months of start
• Follows work instructions and test methods for product testing under supervision
• Consults batch records and developmental test methods for pilot plant testing
• Prepares laboratory standards and reagents
• Performs analyses safely and participates in safety improvements
• Performs instrument validations and maintenance with guidance of Instrument Support Technician

Bachelor's degree in Science with zero to three years of industrial experience

• Basic wet chemistry experience
• Experience running experiments in safe manner with proper PPE
• Experience reviewing data
• Experience working in controlled environments and glove boxes preferred
• Quality control experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The employee will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
