This position is responsible for providing assistance in the daily preparation of the school lunch program. The Food Service Worker prepares and serves Clear Creek School District meals, including breakfast and lunch (hot and cold) in accordance with food and safety standards. The Food Service Worker develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Preparing food according to recipes.
• Setting up serving lines.
• Serving meals.
• Cleaning and sanitizing, maintaining daily sanitation practices in the food preparation and serving areas, and dish room.
• Operating cash register.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Education and training:
High School Diploma/GED required.

Experience:

Less than one (1) year job related experience. Knowledge, experience and other qualifications:
Previous restaurant or food service experience required. Knowledge of commercial food preparation equipment preferred.

Expectations:
Is flexible. Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers. Has the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Has the ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision. Has the ability to effectively communicate with the school and school District community, as well as the public  the ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

Maintains a generally positive attitude. Observes all District policies and procedures.

Work environment:
While performing these job duties, the employee may be exposed to noise and temperature extremes.

Physical requirements:

Frequent lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling and prolonged standing and walking. Eye/hand coordination for register and computer operation. Visual concentration on equipment.
