The Bakery Supervisor in the Deli Department is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bakery section. This role involves ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods, maintaining inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and baking of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards.
Coordinate special orders.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
Place orders to replenish stock and ensure timely delivery.
Minimize waste through efficient production planning and inventory management.
Display baked goods attractively to enhance sales.
Implement promotional displays and seasonal themes.
Monitor sales performance and adjust production as needed.
Assist customers with product inquiries, special orders, and custom requests.
Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Promote bakery products and special offers.
Maintain accurate records of production, sales, and inventory.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in developing and managing the bakery budget.
Monitor expenses as appropriate and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Support the Deli Team as needed
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Culinary or baking certification preferred.
Previous experience in a bakery preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent baking and decorating skills.
Good organizational and time management abilities.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift items up to 25lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Exposure to varying temperatures and potentially hazardous baking equipment.
May require early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
