To oversee the accounting operations of Uncompahgre Medical Center while working with the CFO on budgets, reporting and other financial tasks as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required:

• Responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting procedures of an organization, including payables, receivables, and general ledger entries.
• Maintains an internal control system to ensure that funds are properly secured and used, as well as supporting internal and external auditors.
• Maintain all accounting transactions, budgets, and loan activities.
• Develops, articulates, and implements strategies for business growth and new opportunities.
• Consider credit, liquidity, price risk, and interest in every activity.
• Ensure the integrity of financial reporting by establishing policies and procedures.
• Work with senior managers to conduct risk assessments.
• Create a financial growth strategy for the organization.
• Whenever necessary, provide staff with financial training.
• Participate in the budgeting process.
• Make forecasting easier for executives by providing them with financial data.
• Implements, maintains, and monitors a system of checks and controls to prevent financial fraud in a business.
• Ensure compliance with the company's and legislative standards.
• Reporting disparities.
• Under the direction of the CFO, budgets are developed and forecasts are made.
• Ensure that the month-end and year-end close processes are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare financial statements in a timely manner.
• Ensures Uncompahgre Medical Center complies with all GAAP and other generally accepted accounting principles
• Ensures Uncompahgre Medical Center complies with reporting requirements of all grants and external funding agencies including FFR, UDS, yearly financial audits and other similar activity.
• Ensures all reports completed and timely submitted for all aspects of Uncompahgre Medical Center's businesses including 340B pharmacy.
• Develops a working relationship with key staff at HRSA and other facilities from which Uncompahgre Medical Center receives funds
• Leads response to any audit requests
• Maintains financial records in compliance with all laws and regulations.
• Puts in place systems to ensure revenue cycle appropriately managed and all financial work contracted for accurate and complete.
• Helps manage investments, gain sharing initiatives, capital projects, and other financial expenditures.
• Works/Communicates with Uncompahgre Medical Center Board's Finance Committee as appropriate.
• Agrees and abides by Uncompahgre Medical Center's team building document.
