Part-Time Bike Tech

Summary Description

This seasonal part‑time position is responsible for expertly providing quality tune‑ups and repairs, building bikes, and giving world-class customer service which contributes to the success of the team and the entire company. This is a summer seasonal role with the opportunity to transition into a winter seasonal role.

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource to customers.
• Demonstrate a professional standard of customer service.
• Assess service needs with customers.
• Inspect, repair, and service customers’ bicycles.
• Assist in generating bike and accessory sales while working with the customer.
• Complete accurate paperwork.
• Prioritize work orders efficiently to expedite service.
• Remain current on industry products and trends, demonstrating product knowledge.
• Protect company assets through loss‑prevention techniques.
• Work in a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Passion for cycling/bicycles.
• Minimum of 1 year bike mechanic experience in a retail store.
• Experience with various bike components, service tools, and machinery.
• Ability to routinely lift merchandise and packages of at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to build all levels of bikes from the box to a safe, ride‑ready bike.
• Ability to stand and move in an active, team‑oriented environment for extended periods.
• Fluent communication in spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills.

Budgeted range starts at: $20–$22 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
