Biological Science Technician

Summary

The purpose of the position is to perform a wide variety of complex biological science technical support functions. This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Intermountain Region, Rocky Mountain National Park, Division of Resource Stewardship. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 07/29/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

• Collaborates with a variety of work groups in different disciplines to minimize and respond to wildlife-human conflicts.
• Administers proper drug dosages to captured animals, collects biological samples, records animal condition, body measurements, affixes ear-tags and/or radio-collars, and monitors recovery.
• Maintains scientific databases by collecting, entering, and analyzing data, and prepares reports of project activities.
• Organizes, conducts, trains, and leads others in field surveys in remote locations to document and assess animal presence, abundance, reproduction, management issues, and population dynamics using established protocols and standard scientific equipment.
