Principal

To assist staff in maintaining a physical environment that will promote the educational well being of each student.

• Monitor hallways during the change of classes and during instruction time.
• Verifies student passes and monitors restroom areas.
• Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
• Monitors building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs or escorts them to appropriate personnel.
• Monitors school and grounds to detect unauthorized persons and reports any unusual conditions to administrative personnel.
• Reports immediately to the presence of any visitor in the building who bypasses visitor protocol and reports unusual behavior to administrative personnel.
• Performs other duties consistent with professional competence as the Board may assign.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
