Security Officer

Location: Edwards, CO 81632 Employment Type: Full-Time Position Type: Unarmed Security Officer Compensation: Up to $26.50 per hour Schedule: Friday to Sunday | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to support overnight security operations at a property in Edwards, Colorado. This position focuses on maintaining a secure environment through routine exterior patrols, professional observation, and effective communication while working alongside staff.

The ideal candidate remains calm in challenging situations, demonstrates sound judgment, and is comfortable interacting with individuals experiencing crises. Success in this role requires professionalism, patience, and the ability to apply de‑escalation techniques while following established safety procedures.

• Conduct scheduled exterior patrols of buildings, parking areas, walkways, and surrounding property
• Monitor the grounds for unauthorized access, safety hazards, or suspicious activity
• Help maintain a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, and contractors
• Report maintenance concerns or security risks promptly

• Observe and report unusual activity or concerns
• Respond appropriately to security incidents following site procedures and company policies
• Assist staff during disruptive situations while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Support emergency response efforts when requested by property personnel

• Communicate respectfully with visitors and professionals
• Utilize effective verbal de‑escalation techniques when interacting with upset, agitated, or combative individuals
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all workplace interactions
• Provide excellent customer service while supporting a secure environment

• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
• Record observations and actions taken during each shift
• Maintain communication with supervisors and designated property contacts
• Follow all client post orders and company standards

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work overnight 12‑hour shifts on a consistent schedule
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional judgment and situational awareness
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately during emergencies
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Must successfully pass a fingerprint‑based background check as required by the client
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, all client‑required vaccinations before assignment
• Must meet all company pre‑employment screening requirements

• Training or experience in conflict resolution and verbal de‑escalation
• Background in security, military, emergency response, corrections, or public safety
• Experience preparing incident reports and maintaining accurate documentation
