FRIENDS of Broomfield, a nonprofit organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is looking for a part time reliable person to assist with general facility and vehicle maintenance.
General Description
The Maintenance Technician will perform basic maintenance tasks and repairs for FRIENDS of Broomfield assigned equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Responsibilities may include minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system troubleshooting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, and other appropriate maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the facility in a safe, professional, and well-kept condition
- Perform routine basic maintenance on building systems
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, lightbulb replacement, HVAC systems troubleshooting, minor plumbing and electrical, grounds maintenance, and /or repair of other building fixtures
- Coordinate repair work with appropriate vendors/trades/contractors as needed
- Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
- Oversee basic vehicle safety, maintenance and cosmetic needs
- Maintain facility and transportation maintenance files
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and irrigation systems
- General knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to provide and use hand tools and power tools
- Flexibility with schedule and able to respond to an emergency at night or on weekends
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of vendors and trades
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Specialized licensing and related experience preferred
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time
