JOB SUMMARYA Pipefitter 2nd Shift in the Fabrication shop will plan, lay-out, install, test, and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. They will work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of piping systems in accordance with those plans and specifications.
- Read and understand plans and specifications, including P& isometric drawings.
- Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
- Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Inspect work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain, and take any corrective action needed.
- Use appropriate hand and power tools to fit and install all types of pipe, tubular and/or structural products; cut or drill holes to permit passage of pipes; select specified type and size of pipe; mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe; install valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe; and lift, position and secure materials and work pieces during installation.
- Utilize all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe couplings including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued, and fused joints.
- Understand and implement hot-work and lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner.
- Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Promote and adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
- Support and exemplify the company’s mission and values in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Three years welding experience preferred; must pass the prescribed welding test.
- Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then be able to perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to ensure you understand the information given.
- Must have a working knowledge of various welding codes, specifications, techniques, and methods.
- Must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to work overhead.
- Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in all weather and temperature extremes.
- Vision adequate to perform all required tasks.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.

COMPENSATIONThe expected compensation range is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final compensation is based on factors such as education, experience, and other qualifications.
Hourly wage + $2/hour shift differential pay
