Trails Worker Basic - Summer 2026
The Trails Worker is responsible for general maintenance of on-mountain trails while promoting a positive guest experience. This position reports to the Trails Director.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain on-mountain trails by performing dirt work, rock picking, brushing and revegetation
- Responsible for seeding, fertilizing and hay blowing on mountain terrain
- Monitor trail conditions for hazards, ensuring proper signage, and removing debris or obstacles to maintain a safe environment for all users
- Work with other team members to coordinate maintenance tasks, ensuring efficient trail upkeep and addressing any trail issues promptly
- Maintain tools and equipment
- May engage guests to promote a positive guest experience
- Operate chainsaw (as required)
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
- Valid, current unrestricted Driver's License required
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- Attend fire prevention training (as required)
- Attend forklift and ATV training (as required)
- Attend first aid training (as required)
- Attend chain saw safety class (as required)
- Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comfortable working on mountain terrain including steep grades
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
- Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to be a team player, working collaboratively with others
Work Environment and physical demands
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time.
- Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
