Location: Bennett
SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. We are looking for a Technical Service Technician Level 1 to support photovoltaic corrective maintenance and repairs on SOLV Energy projects, as well as support third‑party repairs and repowers on a full‑time basis at our Bennett, CO job site.
The position requires travel and may begin as a contingent role with potential transition to permanent.
- Take direct responsibility for safety regulations and work procedures for the team.
- Coordinate both SOLV Energy and third‑party O&M repairs.
- Create value‑added services to existing contractual work.
- Perform field installation of electrical components and inverter repairs.
- Train and support various regions in PV installations.
- Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar equipment, systems and plants with minimal training.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge through educational opportunities, publications and professional organizations.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
- Advanced computer operation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformers.
- Ability to pass exams on electrical schematics, symbols and troubleshooting.
- Valid NFPA 70E safety training certification and current in all safety and technical trainings.
- Self‑sufficient, safe working capability under all conditions.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills; ability to work with PM, management, OCC, HV and compliance teams.
- Willingness to operate in remote locations with extreme weather, and to work on an on‑call basis (weekends or after‑hours).
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to assess safety items, issue stop‑work orders and create site‑specific schedules.
- Experience with large crew management, detailed construction scheduling and basic SCADA communications protocol.
- Travel at least 50% of the year.
Occasional exposure to harsh outdoor environments, vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic or caustic chemicals. Requires frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking and lifting 50lbs or more. Constant dexterity, vision, hearing and depth perception required. May involve occasional climbing, carrying, exposure to moving mechanical parts and work at heights or in confined spaces. Noise intensity may be high.
CompensationHourly rate: $25.02 – $31.27 (based on experience and qualifications).
