Utility Technician, Maintenance Worker
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locator to join our team in Minturn, CO. The Locator will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utilities and infrastructure to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
- Interpret maps, blueprints, and utility drawings to identify utility locations.
- Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to coordinate locating activities.
- Document and report findings accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities.
- Maintain and calibrate locating equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated time frames.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in utility locating or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with underground utility systems and construction processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maps.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, and carry equipment for extended periods.
This position involves working outdoors on construction sites and other locations where underground utilities are present. The Locator must adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
