Job Description

This is a brief description; it is not comprehensive. We are seeking a skilled Journey worker plumber for service work and repairs, with strong knowledge of installing and repairing heat pump, tankless, and power-vented water heaters and other high-efficiency plumbing systems. This role includes extensive work with leak repairs on sewer/domestic water lines and crawl spaces. As a Journey worker plumber, you will work independently and with other teams to deliver high-quality service, mentor apprentices through on-the-job training, and ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues across a range of plumbing systems primarily on DWV and domestic water.
  • Use diagnostic tools to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Respond urgently to assess and repair leaks on sewer and domestic water lines in a residential setting.
  • Install and repair heat pump, tankless, and power-vented water heaters and high-efficiency fixtures.
  • Configure and install plumbing systems, ensuring correct venting and sizing.
  • Utilize system software to maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and materials.
  • Manage flow of paperwork in accordance with internal processes and program compliance.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure code compliance on all jobs.
  • Educate clients on high-efficiency plumbing and energy-saving technologies.
  • Maintain tools, job sites, and service vehicles in a clean and organized manner.
  • Train and teach apprentices plumbing code and trade techniques.
  • Assist other departments when plumbing tasks are completed.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of plumbing experience, with a strong background in residential plumbing systems.
  • Valid CO Journey level license required.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one within two weeks of hiring, with no major violations in the last 3 years.
  • Extensive experience with modern plumbing technologies, including tankless systems, heat pump models, and high-efficiency fixtures such as low-flow toilets and faucets.
  • Willingness to teach and work with an apprentice.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plumbing codes, and technical manuals.
  • Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of plumbing systems.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs regularly and up to 75lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report.
Preferred Skills (Licensing/Certification)
  • Experience soldering, Pro Press tool, welding, and fabrication for plumbing installations.
  • Experience with heat pump, tankless, and power-vented water heaters.
  • Additional plumbing certifications, especially those related to water conservation and energy-efficient plumbing technologies.
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations for energy-efficient systems.

Travel required to and from service region job sites.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting & Mobility:
    Must be able to lift up to 60lbs regularly and up to 75lbs occasionally.
  • Worksite Conditions:
    Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics, basements), poorly lit or dusty areas, extreme temperatures (hot or cold), and on ladders or rooftops (up to 35 feet high).
  • Noise Exposure:
    Exposure to noise from plumbing tools, machinery, and water heaters during installation and repair work.
  • Travel:
    Travel to and from various job sites within the service region is required.
