Heavy Duty Mechanic

BURNCO is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to keep our construction and aggregate equipment running safely and reliably. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair loaders, mixers, trucks, and other heavy equipment used on plants and project sites. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems, and complete accurate service records. Working in a safety-first, team-oriented environment, you'll support reliable operations across Western Canada and the U.S. and gain exposure to major infrastructure projects with long-term career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks, loaders, mixers, and plant equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems
• Conduct brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs to meet safety standards
• Use diagnostic software, tools, and manuals to identify faults accurately
• Complete detailed service records and work orders in a timely manner
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize repairs
• Follow BURNCO safety procedures and participate in safety meetings
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle parts and fluids
• Support continuous improvement in reliability, uptime, and equipment performance
