Summary

The Measurement Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and monitoring of crude oil and natural gas measurement equipment throughout the company's midstream assets. This position ensures measurement accuracy, supports custody transfer operations, and maintains compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of crude oil and natural gas measurement systems, including LACT units, tank gauging systems, meter runs, flow computers, EFM devices, and related communications equipment.
Operate mobile meter proving equipment and perform meter proving activities.
Perform meter calibrations, inspections, and verifications.
Validate production, gathering, and sales volumes.
Monitor measurement data and investigate discrepancies, volume imbalances, and allocation issues.
Configure and maintain flow computers and communication systems.
Conduct routine audits of measurement facilities and documentation.
Support custody transfer activities and regulatory compliance requirements.
Coordinate repairs and corrective actions with Operations and I&E personnel.
Assist with facility startups, commissioning, and meter installations.
Maintain measurement records, calibration reports, and equipment documentation.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Core Competencies

Oil & Gas Measurement Systems

Education and Experience (required):

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in crude oil, natural gas, or midstream measurement operations.
Experience with measurement equipment, including LACT units, gas meter runs, flow computers, EFM devices, and tank gauging systems.
Working knowledge of oil and gas measurement principles and volume allocation processes.
