Advanced R&D Engr​/Scientist

Overview

We are seeking highly qualified Research scientists with expertise in quantum error correction (QEC) and software development in our Broomfield, CO location. All employees should work at their assigned location; however, this role may offer the opportunity to work remotely up to 2 days per week, with approval.

• Develop software tools to facilitate quantum error correction research in fault-tolerant compilation, error modeling, decoding, and resource estimation
• Conduct theoretical and computational research in quantum error correction
• Interface with software and compiler teams to guide the design of the software stack for large quantum computers
• Conduct research in Quantum Error Correction, and implement demonstrations on the world’s most powerful quantum computers

• PhD Minimum (prior to start date)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience (PhD inclusive)
• Due to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
• Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People s Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen

• PhD in a field relevant to quantum computing strongly preferred
• An exceptional research publication track record
• Additional post-doctoral research experience beyond a PhD
• Formal background in theoretical physics, math, or computer science with a proven track record of solving challenging problems
• Experience with high-performance computing for scientific applications
• Experience working with quantum computing hardware
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

$133,000 - $175,000 a year

Compensation & Benefits: Incentive Eligible – Range posted is inclusive of bonus target when applicable. The pay range for this role is $133,000– $175,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
