Broomfield, CO - Elevations Basecamp
This role can be performed on site at the location above, or remotely for any individual who resides in the state of Colorado.
Summary / Objective:The Application Developer provides top quality solutions that meet application solution needs of Elevations Credit Union business line departments. This is a journey level role responsible for translating software requirements into well‑designed solutions; working with 'off the shelf' software, modifying it and integrating it into the existing architecture; and maintaining programs for business applications.
Essential Functions:- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create, analyze, review, and edit programs for data processing and applications using JHA Symitar Power
ON programming language. - Collaborate with third‑party vendors to ensure the seamless implementation, maintenance, and support of software and hardware that integrates with Symitar and other applications.
- Utilize sound software development life cycle (SDLC) practices and accurately follow established procedures for delivering application solutions that support critical business strategies.
- Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
- Commit application configuration updates to stage / test environment and plan for rollbacks.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents in support of existing production applications and initiate action to correct quality problems or notify others of issues as appropriate.
- Prepare documentation and provide user training on new system applications.
- Facilitate architecture review and ensure that all architectural products are updated and maintained.
Application Development Manager
Manages:This role does not have supervisory responsibility.
RequiredEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Four (4) years experience with financial institution technologies:
Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, Sym Xchange, ARCU), Meridian Link, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc. - Technical hands‑on experience with Symitar proprietary programming (Power On/Rep Gen), SQL development for relational databases, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated knowledge of architecture / systems engineering best practices, systems process design, software design, programming principles, or equivalent processes.
- Familiarity with the Unix operating system, Unix shell scripting, or similar.
- Adequate knowledge of Object Oriented programming and networking.
