Software Platform Engineer II

This position will be staffed in Aurora CO.
What You Will Do- Support infrastructure/Dev Ops build and automation activities utilizing programming/scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Go, Power Shell, and Java) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Participate in collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile system and software development operations to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
- Develop Modernized Software Infrastructure utilizing Dev Ops tools such as:
Ansible, Chef, and the Atlassian Tool suite. - Develop Dev Ops concepts, Containerization, and related product development for our program's new modernized Infrastructure systems using tools such as:
Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes. - Collaborate with other disciplines and senior technical staff, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal customers to form original solutions to complex problems.
- Work in an advanced product development team environment with systems and Software Infrastructure Engineers.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Bash, or Shell.
- 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DoD: TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts to solve technical problems.
- Knowledge or experience with Linux, Windows, or related system operating systems at the command-line interface.
- Experience using development tools such as Ansible, Chef, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, GIT, Jenkins, Jira, or Confluence.
- Familiarity with network design and architecture schemes.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Gov Cloud.
- Exposure to Dev Sec Ops toolsets, either as a user or implementer.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies.
- Experience with cybersecurity concepts is a plus.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. This role is a U.S.
-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
