AboutThe Role
We expand our industrial switching operations in Hudson, CO, and are looking for a skilled, safety-focused Railroad Engineer/Conductor to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe movement of railcars within an industrial facility, coordinating switching operations, performing inspections, and ensuring smooth, efficient service for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform locomotive operations including starting, stopping, coupling, and uncoupling railcars.
- Execute daily industrial switching tasks in accordance with customer needs and company procedures.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of locomotives and railcars.
- Communicate clearly with ground crews, operators, and control teams via radio.
- Ensure strict compliance with all FRA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Complete necessary paperwork, movement logs, and operational reports.
- Operate in all weather conditions and maintain awareness in a high‑hazard environment.
- Prior experience as a Railroad Conductor, Engineer, or Industrial Switchman strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate locomotives and handle rail movements inside a plant or industrial yard.
- Strong understanding of railroad safety rules, switching procedures, and car‑handling practices.
- Ability to work outdoors, perform physical tasks, and remain alert in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening (including random testing).
