Bennett School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our transportation team on a part-time basis. This role involves assisting in the efficient and safe transportation of students and passengers within designated routes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must meet requirements as established by the Colorado Department of Education.
- Previous experience in transportation or logistics is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety practices.
- Must pass a background check, health examination, and drug screening prior to employment.
- Operate transportation vehicles in a safe and efficient manner according to the district's policies and regulations.
- Ensure only authorized students are transported and discharged at designated authorized stops and locations.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods or passengers as required.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained, performing routine checks and reporting any issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding schedules, routes, and any delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Upholds professional standards of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers or clients, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Support the team in various transportation-related tasks as needed.
Must hold or be able to attain a valid Colorado State Driver’s License with a CDL class B with P2 S endorsement.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT- Physical Demands:
- Sitting for extended periods of time while operating buses.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
- Reaching, pulling and pushing to open bus doors.
- Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to inspect and wash buses.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders or horizontally.
- Seeing to monitor passengers and operate a vehicle.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling adaptive equipment and students.
- Work Environment:
- Indoor/outdoor/school bus environment.
- Seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions.
- Evening or variable hours.
- Exposure to fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease and gases.
- Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
- Hazards:
- Traffic hazards.
