The Rental Equipment Transport Driver position is responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering equipment at customer sites and branch locations in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.” Responsibilities include maintaining proper paperwork, ensuring a professional appearance with all vehicles, and providing basic operational instruction to customers on the safe operation of all equipment.
Pay Range$27.00 – $32.00 per hour + Safety Incentive + 15% location differential
Pay rate is dependent upon education and experience.
Essential Functions- Complete and maintain daily truck log, fuel and mileage reports, IFTA paperwork, DOT logs, and relevant information regarding pick‑ups, deliveries, and transfers.
- Accurately manage day‑to‑day use and reporting of the company provided fuel card.
- Report any unsafe conditions regarding the use of rented equipment.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and meets professional standards, including DOT inspections.
- Seek ways to manage the daily routine most effectively and efficiently; work with the manager to implement agreed‑upon changes.
- Assist with workload in other departments/branch areas when not busy with assigned tasks.
- Meet customer needs and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communicate with counter and shop personnel to keep informed of relevant equipment information.
- Act as a company ambassador and promote additional sales by explaining and suggesting other equipment and/or services offered.
- Conduct daily post‑trip vehicle inspections as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
- Maintain vehicles to ensure safe conditions; perform daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, glass, fluids, and tire air pressures.
- Prepare vehicle for next‑day business, including fuel fills and pre‑loads when possible.
- Learn and understand equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operations.
- Demonstrate to customers how to operate delivered equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect all equipment for damage at pickup, document findings, and submit damage information to Rental Counter personnel upon return.
- Understand and comply with DOT Federal Motor Carrier regulations.

- 3+ years professional driving experience
- 3+ years administrative/clerical experience
- 3+ years customer service experience
- 1+ year working knowledge of construction equipment
- Valid driver’s license (for state of employment)
- CDL Class A tanker certified driver’s license
- Excellent driving record required (no DUIs, suspensions, or DOT violations)
