Accounting Manager, Financial Compliance
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the accounting department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Primary Responsibility, Scope of Work, KPI Management, complexity:

- Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
- Works with the Controller on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization.
- Reviews records of accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Develops systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies.
- Creates forms and manuals for the accounting personnel.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.

The assistant controller has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for those in the accounting department.
Work Environment:This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:This position requires up to 10% travel.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent number of years of experience plus five years of accounting experience.

Physical Activity RequirementsThe essential functions of this position require frequent standing and walking, as well as occasional sitting. Manual dexterity is required more than two-thirds of the time, and repetitive finger motions such as typing are performed regularly. The role occasionally requires lifting or exerting force, including lifting up to 10 pounds. Lifting up to 25 pounds occurs less than one-third of the time, while lifting up to 50 pounds, 100 pounds, and over 100 pounds is required only occasionally as part of the job duties.
Reaching or stretching is performed regularly, and climbing or balancing, including stair use, occurs occasionally. The position also requires occasional crouching or stooping. Speaking and hearing are essential and performed more than two-thirds of the time as part of routine communication.
The position involves occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid environments, extreme cold, and extreme heat. It also includes occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and blood borne pathogens. Additional occasional exposures include risk of fire or explosion, electric shock, prolonged vibration, and loud noise levels. These conditions arise less than one-third of the time but remain relevant to the essential functions of the position.
