The Sales Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in strategic solution development across all Nomad market segments. The role works closely with the Manager, Solution Sales Operations, and the Proposals Team to identify, qualify, and pursue high‑value opportunities, and to develop and maintain long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers.
Essential Functions / Responsibility Accountabilities- Technical Accuracy:
Accountable for the technical accuracy of all sales proposals contributed to under the minor supervision of the Strategic Sales Manager. - Compliance and Approval:
Ensure all technical proposals meet internal and external compliance with written and verbal customer requirements and are signed off by the relevant engineering departments. - Product Knowledge:
Serve as SME of Nomad’s standard product offerings and construction methods. - Business‑to‑Government Procurement:
Advanced understanding of government procurement methods and how they relate to Nomad’s products.
- Strive to understand customer missions and how Nomad’s solutions can help them complete their mission through travel, questioning, and research.
- Provide strategic technical guidance to the Applications Engineer for end‑to‑end solution development covering physical structure, product platform, mission‑specific technology, power, communications, and AV.
- Oversee solution costing and create a price‑to‑win strategy using competitor, contract/award type, customer budget, and market value knowledge.
- Research and analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and market directions to design mission‑driven solutions aligned with safety, security, simplicity, reliability, and speed.
- Monitor and analyze competitors to develop technically differentiated value propositions for proposals.
- Demonstrate strong aptitude for learning, business acumen, and experience in mechanical/electrical/IT engineering to influence mission‑driven solution development.
- Identify, cultivate, and sustain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their roles and influence to drive business growth.
- Ensure technical proposal response quality, post‑sale technical strategy, and negotiation success.
- Maintain deep understanding of internal Nomad departments to ensure effective collaboration and successful project outcomes, maintaining consistent meeting cadence with engineering and production leads.
- Mentor Applications Engineers.
- Serve as a Nomad ambassador, consistently embodying the company’s values and vision.
- Execute Nomad’s structured sales process as defined in the Sales Field Guide to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
- Educate yourself and the customer on Nomad’s solution to meet mission needs.
- Understand and validate customer requirements, equipment, and develop mission‑driven solutions.
- Collaborate with Mechanical/Electrical/IT Engineering to align solutions with customer mission and budget.
- Review technical portions of all customer RFP/RFQ/RFI/salient requirements and:
- Identify errors, discrepancies, and desired outcomes.
- Provide feedback, strategic action plans, and responses to address discrepancies.
- Interpret requirements and produce compliant solutions with price‑to‑win strategy.
- Produce strategic Q&A inputs.
- Manage workload of technical requests, ensuring turnaround timelines meet KPIs set by the Strategic Sales Manager.
