Job Description – Aggregate Registered Nurse 2 )
Job OverviewThe Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) invites applications for the position of Aggregate Registered Nurse at the Montana Veterans’ Home (MVH) located in Columbia Falls. MVH is a Medicare/Medicaid and Veterans Administration‑certified nursing facility with 105 intermediate/skilled‑care beds and 12 domiciliary beds, and includes a 15‑bed Dementia Care unit. Admission is for honorably discharged veterans who qualify for skilled/intermediate nursing care or domiciliary self‑care living;
spouses of veterans may be admitted on a space‑available basis.
- Assess, plan, implement, and document nursing care for residents.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Provide guidance and assistance to LPNs and CNAs as necessary.
- Ensure veterans are safe and healthy, performing duties typical of an aggregate RN.
Lift 50 lbs. rarely; lift 15–20 lbs. frequently; reach forward and below frequently; push/pull 60 lbs. occasionally; 10–20 lbs. occasionally. Dexterity for handling instruments and equipment. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Two years of experience as an RN.
- At least one year of geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- Other equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
